Motorways are cleaner with lamella separators
Our genuine commitment to a cleaner environment: innovative systems that treat water faster and more efficiently.
Protecting the country’s water
We have installed various lamella separator plants on motorways in the Bellinzona area. Convert Green Sagl is the exclusive Swiss arm of Ciem Impianti srl, creator and developer of lamella pack separators.
Hydrocarbons and oils (i.e. heavy metals) accumulate on the motorway surface and in car parks, polluting the groundwater. Rainwater washes these pollutants from the road surface. The pollutants are then conveyed into special tanks that contain the lamella separators. Our SPLs meet the Ustra guidelines. They are made of steel and fiberglass, and are solid and durable. They are custom-designed and sized. This makes it possible to save space and significantly reduces overall construction costs.
What operation do the lamella separators perform?
The SPLs serve to make the separation of water from sludge and oils faster and more efficient. The process of allowing the force of gravity to separate water from sand in a downward motion, and water from oils in an upward motion, takes a great deal of time. Convert Green’s lamella separators significantly speed up the process with their maximised contact surface and the optimised inclination of the lamellas.
Interventions for cleaner motorways in Ticino and more
An article in La Regione, a daily newspaper for Italian-speaking Switzerland, describes installations of our innovative technology in the Stalvedro service area and on the stretch near Gnosca (Bellinzona).
Our projects
As well as the interventions listed in the article, we have taken part in numerous other projects throughout Switzerland. To view our projects, click on the interactive map.
